The Annual tekom Conference 2019: gds puts the focus on Content Delivery

  •  The targeted provision of Technical Documentation
  • Tangible Content Delivery: Practical example in the form of a spray lubrication system
  • Full service portfolio available at exhibition booth 2/B01

Sassenberg/Stuttgart, October 30, 2019 – Digital and target group specific content delivery, at any stage and independent of the end device: The gds Group’s main focus at the annual tekom conference in 2019 is on Content Delivery.  The full-service provider for technical documentation will be presenting its current portfolio of electronic documentation content in Stuttgart, with a focus on easybrowse, the content delivery solution applied by user to digitally deliver the contents of technical documentation to specific user groups. This system will be presented live using a spray lubrication system. gds is also displaying its extensive range of services encompassing technical documentation at exhibition booth 2/B01.

“Content Delivery is currently the most important of the future regarding technical documentation,” says Henning Mallok, Sales Manager of gds GmbH and Managing Director of gds Sprachenwelt GmbH. “During our presentation, we want to enable the audience at the trade fair to experience this and illustrate the advantages of our solution portfolio as practically as possible”. A basic prerequisite of content delivery is the enrichment of content with metadata. The company therefore intends to use example data at the exhibition booth in Stuttgart to derive various use cases together with interested parties. These also comprise the visualization and procurement of spare parts using state-of-the-art end devices, electronic spare parts catalogs and eCommerce applications.

The options gds has to offer in content delivery systems will be demonstrated by the company at its exhibition booth using a spray lubrication system from technotrans SE. The focus is on the functionality of easybrowse, a comprehensive standard solution for the management and provision of information. The system delivers the content to different user groups and can be filled from different sources, whereby easybrowse optionally uses the new intelligent information Request and Delivery Standard (iiRDS).

Linking to products for everyday editorial work

“If you link a content delivery system like easybrowse to our editorial systems, you can easily define a wide variety of products,” says Mallok. The service scope of the editorial systems docuglobe and XR is another focus of this year's gds trade fair appearance. Docuglobe is one the market’s leading editorial systems for Technical Documentation. The solution supports technical editors in the uncomplicated and quick creation of publications. These work with docuglobe on a MS-Word base, both across sectors and practice-based. With RX, gds simultaneously offers an XML-based CCMS for technical editing. In addition to the industry-specific “out-of-the-box” solutions, the system offers a great deal of flexibility in implementing individual customer requests.

The comprehensive service portfolio of the gds group at the exhibition booth is rounded off by accompanying consulting services. gds Sprachenwelt GmbH supports its customers in the creation of compliant specialist translations of the highest quality. Comprehensive support is also provided for uniform terminology work in order to minimize operating errors. With the help of the gds team for CE support, products are created in compliance with directives. CE marking is a process that demands a great deal of know-how from its participants. In this case it is all about user safety and reducing liability risks for manufacturers.
