Automatically Generating Documents – Without Editorial Effort

The presentation demonstrates how Christof Fischer GmbH generates documentation almost entirely automatically, with minimal editorial effort. The starting point was the challenge of producing technical documentation efficiently and reliably without depending on traditional editorial processes. By using structured data, reusable modules and rule-based automation, a seamless process was established. A practical example illustrates how this approach was integrated into existing workflows and what prerequisites are necessary for successful implementation. The result: consistent, standards-compliant documentation with significantly reduced effort and high output quality.

Speakers: Dipl. Ing. Anke Hoffmann | Technical Documentation | Christof Fischer GmbH and Christian Paul | Product Manager docuglobe | gds GmbH

Technical Documentation as a Support Booster

How can technical documentation be delivered in a way that creates real added value in customer service? Martin Bock (Diamant Software) and Kathleen Pohlmann (gds) demonstrate how introducing a new editorial system and a modern content delivery portal led to a self-service experience that supports users quickly, purposefully and in context—right within the application. The presentation offers practical insights into the project implementation, challenges during migration, and the tangible benefits for support teams, technical writers and customers alike.

Speakers: Martin Bock | Head of Support & Learning Products / Executive Vice President | Diamant Software GmbH and Kathleen Pohlmann | Project Consultant | gds GmbH

Smart delivery requires smart structures – metadata for chat and agent systems

Are metadata becoming a thing of the past? The rapid progress of generative AI might suggest so – but the opposite is true. The presentation shows how metadata, in combination with knowledge graphs, play a key role in ensuring the quality, consistency and traceability of AI-generated content.
It explains the different types of metadata, how they are captured, maintained and distributed – and why semantic technologies such as ontologies and taxonomies are indispensable in this context.

Their full potential unfolds especially when information is delivered via chat interfaces: metadata enable content to be provided in a contextual, structured and dialogue-driven manner – as an intelligent gateway to existing knowledge.
A forward-looking perspective highlights how agent systems could proactively and intelligently manage information flows in the future, transforming technical communication in the long term.

Speakers:
Maximilian Gärber | Partner and Principal Technical Consultant | PANTOPIX GmbH & Co. KG
Jan Grüter | Project Manager Content Delivery | gds GmbH

Wednesday, November 12, 2025 | 4:30 - 5:15 PM | Room: C7.2

DERCOM-Track: Printed is a thing of the past – content delivery now!

Paper-based documentation? Expensive, outdated, impossible to find. Welcome to reality: today, information needs to be digital, up to date and available exactly when it's needed – at the point of need. But in many companies, content is scattered across network drives, SharePoints and hidden in silos. Knowledge remains locked away – often in documents that already exist. And employees waste time searching instead of solving.

This presentation shows how modern content delivery strategies not only put an end to information chaos, but also boost efficiency, preserve knowledge, speed up onboarding, improve user experience – and even enable new digital business models. It also highlights how AI integrations can benefit from this approach. Those who don't rethink now will remain stuck in the documentation jungle.

Speaker:
Jan Grüter | Project Manager Content Delivery | gds GmbH

Please note that all presentations will be given in German.
