docuglobe Content Mangement System
»Do you know the docuglobe Cloud?«
docuglobe can help
The use of docuglobe makes sense wherever the creation of a document is based on the following approach:
“Search” for a similar document that could serve as a template → "Open" the document → "Save as".
It is an inevitable fact that this approach results in unstructured and unmanageable volumes of redundant data or content.
The so-called “copying errors” form an additional problem in this approach.
Experience gained from many companies has shown that the use of docuglobe leads to significantly more efficient and secure processes in a wide range of areas and, consequently, to a significant reduction in overall costs.
This is a fact readily confirmed by our customers.

A WIDE VARIETY OF APPLICATION AREAS
Extending beyond its original use for the preparation of “technical documentation”, the Component Content Management System (CCMS) docuglobe has entered many other application areas:
-
Design, R&D (e.g., for concept or project documentation)
-
Quality management (e.g., for work instructions, standard operating procedures, inspection instructions)
-
Sales and marketing (e.g., for bid proposals, product descriptions, presentations)
-
IT/EDP (e.g., for user and administrator documentation)
-
Customer services (e.g., training documentation, service information, training presentations)
-
Human resources (e.g., job descriptions and employment ads)
Further application areas include construction, law and contracts as well as project and concept documentation.
docuglobe – the editorial system for MS Word
The strategy is referred to as “database-supported modularization, standardization, and structuring”. This is the exact approach adopted for docuglobe.
Documents consist of individual information modules created using Microsoft Word. An information module can be of any size.
The information modules are depicted in a tree structure (similar to Microsoft Explorer) and managed in a database.
A wide variety of file formats (external files) can also be managed in a modular manner, so that attachments can be added to documents and graphic images can be managed, for example.
A given document consists of a list of linked information modules and external files (parts list principle). Once a document is generated, docuglobe takes over the segmentation, produces the layout and inserts graphics and attachments.
docuglobe can be operated as well as a client server system or a web version (SaaS).
Thanks to the language management option, the managing of documents in various languages becomes simple and efficient. Once translated, content can be used again and again.
Content is published on a cross-media basis, for example as a PDF file, as online help, on tablets or smartphones, as a MS Word document, HTML5-Website, iiRDS export, as easybrowse export for the Content Delivery Portal or as an XML file.
Another special feature of docuglobe is the modularized processing and management of MS PowerPoint presentations. Every tile exists only once and can be used in as many presentations as needed.

docuglobe for project and system documentation
Project and system documentation are generally composed of a wide variety of information:
- Self-written documents (docuglobe documents)
- Design documents (drawings, plans, etc.)
- Supplier documentation
- Other papers (certificates, logs, etc.)
With the “Project and system documentation” software module, you can use docuglobe to compose documentation of any scope.
Like in a virtual set of shelves, the overall document is composed of a structure of folders and tabs. This is where the actual documents are located.
When compiling, docuglobe automatically monitors the “fill level” of a folder and notifies the user when a new folder must be added, so that the virtual folders subsequently correspond to the actual ring binders.
During the publishing process, docuglobe automatically creates a data structure for an autorun data storage device (CD, thumb drive, etc.), including navigation menus. Furthermore docuglobe supports the standardised iiRDS format. This is used for the exchange with easybrowse, but can also be used for any third party system. Moreover, all layouts required for printing are automatically produced. Apart from the docu-ments themselves, this includes the tables of contents, folder spine labels and cover sheets. The easybrowse publishing route furthermore enables the display of the scope of features detailed above for mobile documentation. Here too, docuglobe supports iiRDS.
In this way, you are automating and optimizing all processes while creating and managing your project and system documentation.
