Experts’ meeting on technical communication: gdslive enters second round

Forum for exchanging information and networking | Prior selection of technical presentations ensures maximum relevance | Attractive location and open atmosphere create space for new ideas

Düsseldorf, April 27, 2018 – Following last year’s successful debut of gdslive, the second round of the experts’ meeting series is scheduled for May 16, 2018. Again, gds Group is inviting its customers to join them at “Haus zum Kurfürsten” in Düsseldorf, Germany. The full service provider of technical documentation would like to share information about current trends and developments and offer the opportunity of technical dialog and discourse through gdslive.

“The comfortable and personal atmosphere that was omnipresent in the modern rooms of the historic building for the kick-off of the meeting last year contributed to the success of the event and for this reason we are pleased to return to this location,” points out Ulrich Pelster, managing director of gds. The focus of this year’s meeting is Content Delivery in all of its varying facets as well as the presentation of the XR/engineering editorial management system. To this end, the new features of the XML-based solution are shown and explained. The presentations for the standard interface of COTI and the new iiRDS standard also seemed to pique the interest of the audience in the run-up to the meeting. Users of the docuglobe editorial management system are not going to be short-changed either. In addition to application examples and extensions, the customization of menu ribbons in MS Word should turn out to be a valuable topic for this audience. Plus numerous further presentations, covering the broad spectrum of technical documentation will be given.

“In 2017 we have received positive feedback regarding the agenda. That is why, this year, we are again leaving the agenda arrangement to our customers.  It enables us to provide our customers with information about the most important trends in this trade in a more selective manner,” explains Ulrich Pelster. Customers of gds were presented with a list of various suggestions of topics for the agenda of presentations for gdslive beforehand from which they were able to select and vote for the topics that are going to be presented on May 16 in Düsseldorf. This ensures maximum relevance of the presentations for the audience.

The day of the meeting will proceed in a non-linear fashion, since every attendee has the opportunity of picking and choosing their individual agenda of concurrently offered presentations. This option and the opportunity of talking to the person giving the presentation and other “kindred spirits” were two factors that contributed to the success of the initial gdslive event. Visitors to this year’s event can look forward to an informative meeting in a relaxed and open atmosphere.
