November activities - gds takes part in the tcworld conference and FMB fair

  • Participation in two trade fairs in November
  • gds contributes to the tcworld conference program
  • gds can be met at two shared stands at the FMB fair

Sassenberg, October 28, 2021 – digital and analog: gds GmbH will be very busy in November. The leading competence center for technical communication and information management will be simultaneously present at two trade fairs. On November 8-19, 2021, gds will participate in the tcworld conference that will be held in an all-digital format for the second time. The company from Sassenberg will contribute to the extensive conference program in the form of two lectures and two exhibitor presentations. In addition, the FMB fair for suppliers in the mechanical engineering sector will once again be held as an in-person fair on November 10-12, 2021. Here, gds will be represented on two shared stands.

“Staying in touch with our customers and partners is our top priority,” says Ulrich Pelster, Managing Director of gds GmbH. Therefore, gds takes every opportunity for a face-to-face meeting and exchange, as far as this is possible in compliance with the COVID-19 restrictions. “For us, it was clear that we wanted to participate not only in the virtual tcworld conference but also in the FMB trade fair. We want to present our entire portfolio and use this opportunity to showcase our expertise based on expert lectures.”

The tcworld conference 2021 will be a two-week event with an entirely “new look”. Mondays are so-called “technology days” focusing on the content creation process and its evolution in view of the ongoing digital transformation. In addition, the organizers plan to split the program. The first week is intended for expert lectures while the second week focuses on workshops. The presentation of Ludger Bruns, Head of Service Consulting at gds GmbH, and Phillipp Reusch, attorney and founding partner of reuschlaw Legal Consultants, with the title “Großbritannien nach dem Brexit: Praxisprobleme Brexit/UKCA” (Post-Brexit United Kingdom: practical problems caused by Brexit/UKCA) at 4 pm on November 10 focuses on the parallel world that is emerging in the product conformity and labeling area in the aftermath of the UK’s exit from the EU and explains the necessary measures for implementing the new import rules.

The presentation that gds will hold at 10:45 am on November 15 as a member of DERCOM (Verband deutscher Redaktions- und Content Management System Hersteller e. V.) is about versions and variants. Ilka Domberg, Head of Professional Services at gds GmbH, will explain the difference between the two concepts, present an approach for the object versioning process in editorial management systems, and illustrate how product variety can be reflected in the documentation to ensure the efficient documentation of series or individual products.

In addition to the expert lectures, two exhibitor presentations offer the opportunity to dive deeper into the gds portfolio. On November 17, at 1 pm, Tobias Kreimann, ECMS Product Manager at gds GmbH, will present “easybrowse + XR/engineering – ein starkes Team” (easybrowse + XR/engineering – a strong team). Jan Grüter, Content Delivery Product Manager at gds GmbH, will hold his presentation “docuglobe + easybrowse – Word, iiRDS, und Content Delivery in der Praxis” (docuglobe + easybrowse – Word, iiRDS, and content delivery in practice) at 2:30 pm on November 18.

Double presence at the FMB fair

The FMB fair will be held in Bad Salzuflen at the same time as the tcworld conference. For the first time after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, customers and partners can come together in person with the gds experts. gds will be present at two shared stands. As in previous years, there will be the opportunity to meet the CE expert Ludger Bruns together with representatives of dkon Systeme GmbH from Lengerich, a company specialized in machine enclosures, at stand 20-F10.1.

As part of the Dutch expert cluster TechNet Oost, gds will be represented by the gds consultant Björn Ferencz at the shared stand 20-H10.1. In early 2021, gds – as the first German company – joined the network of development and manufacturing companies with its origins in the industrial association VMO (Verenigde Maakindustrie Oost) that focuses on supporting original equipment manufacturers along the entire value chain. gds GmbH shares its competencies in the area of technical documentation, product conformity, and technical translation services with the network.

Both trade fairs mark an important milestone for gds. “Our outlook for the future is optimistic and we are looking forward to progress toward normality,” says Pelster. The first step for gds in this context is the participation in analog and digital events. “We want to send a strong signal for 2022 and have a positive outlook for the coming year.”
