PRESS RELEASE
From November 10-12, 2026, the technical communication industry will be gathering in the ICS at Messe Stuttgart. gds will be represented once again during the event with its own booth
Sassenberg, 10/7/2026 – With three specialist presentations and participation in a roundtable, gds GmbH is represented prominently in the specialist program at this year's tcworld conference and enriches the conference with a strong technical presence and expertise on important topics relating to technical communication. From November 10-12, 2026, the technical communication industry will be gathering in the ICS at Messe Stuttgart. gds will be represented once again during the event with its own booth
The technical presentations focus on two developments that are increasingly shaping technical documentation: the use of artificial intelligence in content management processes as well as the integration of technical information in cross-functional product compliance processes.
“When it comes to AI, people are now talking a lot about individual tools and models. But for businesses it is at least just as important what information structures and processes underpin everything,” says Ulrich Pelster, Managing Director of gds GmbH. “Reliable data, clear structures, and clearly assigned information do not become any less relevant if AI is used. Quite the contrary: they form the foundation for being able to integrate new technologies into existing processes in a controlled and effective way.”
Structured information as the foundation for AI
Tobias Kreimann, Product Manager CCMS – XR at gds, will be examining this interrelationship in two presentations.
- On Wednesday, November 11, at 11:30 a.m. he will be speaking as part of the DERCOM track in room C6.1 about “Modularization and metadata – Foundation for good AI results in technical documentation.”
The presentation examines a key requirement for the productive use of AI: technical information not only needs to be available. It must also be structured so that systems can find the information clearly, classify it, and use it contextually. Modularization and metadata, long since key components of professional content management processes, are therefore growing in importance.
- Kreimann will be showing on Thursday, November 12, at 3 p.m. in room C6.2 how AI can interact directly with a content management system, beyond simply processing content.
Under the title “AI revolution in the CCMS: How Claude & MCP are reinventing technical documentation” he will be demonstrating, taking the XR content management system as an example, how to link an AI agent with a CCMS using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). As a result, defined system functions can be invoked via natural-language inputs. Application examples range from creating documents and product variants through to system-based analyses
Thinking of technical documentation and product compliance as a single entity
gds is also addressing a second key topic, namely the increasing networking of technical documentation with regulatory and enterprise-wide information processes.
On Thursday, November 12, at 11:30 a.m. in the Plenary Session 2, Sebastian Dulisch, Head of Head of Technical Editing at gds, and Managing Director Ulrich Pelster will be showing what role technical information plays within an overarching product compliance process in the presentation “Technical documentation as part of product compliance in practice.”
Product conformity effects numerous business areas and data sources. For end-to-end implementation, information from product development, regulatory requirements, and technical documentation has to be merged and kept available throughout the product life cycle. The presentation will illustrate how technical documentation can be integrated into these processes and what importance structured information flows have in this respect.
DERCOM discusses the future of content management systems
To what extent artificial intelligence will change existing content management systems is also the issue addressed by a roundtable of the industry association DERCOM.
Under the deliberately exaggerated title “Will AI devour content management systems? Or make them great?” industry representatives will be discussing the future role of CCMS and content management systems on Wednesday, November 11, at 4:45 p.m. in room C6.1. Anne Kudla, Head of Sales, will be taking part in the roundtable for gds.
Here, one of the questions will be whether AI can replace classic system functions or whether structured content systems will become even more important in light of AI-based processes.
gds at the tekom fair
Attendees will be able to analyze the topics from the specialist presentations in-depth in person during the entire tcworld conference on booth 2/B10. The gds team will be on hand to share technical know-how on topical issues relating to technical documentation and information management – from structured content management processes and content delivery, AI-powered applications, through to product compliance.
The tcworld conference and the parallel fair will be held from November 10-12, 2026 in the ICS at Messe Stuttgart. If you would like a free ticket to the fair, simply send us an e-mail. Please note that this ticket does not include entry to presentations.
We look forward to seeing you!
