PRESS RELEASE
gdslive 2025: Industry event for technical communication offers practical relevance and dialogue formats

Exciting insights, in-depth discussions, and inspiring perspectives – gdslive 2025 wowed attendees with professional expertise and face-to-face discussions.

Sassenberg/Düsseldorf, May 22, 2025 – gdslive 2025 was a massive success. The seventh edition of the industry event for trends and current topics relating to technical communication and information management was held at the Düsseldorf Airport Conference Center on May 14, 2025, and offered a diverse program with plenty of practical relevance.

Participants gained valuable insights into current challenges and solutions in four topic clusters – “From Experience,” “Regulations and More,” “AI and Digitization,” and “Tools and Processes” – related to the creation, management, and distribution of technical information.

“gdslive thrives on exchange – both personal and professional. We're thrilled to have gotten in touch with the heart of the industry again with this year’s program,” said Ulrich Pelster, Managing Director of gds GmbH.

Practical presentations with depth

The participants followed practical presentations with interest; these presented concrete experiences, success models, and challenges from the everyday dealings of our customers:

  • docuglobe as a central system: Heike Schulze, “Regulations” group leader in asset management at Mitteldeutsche Netzgesellschaft, showed how digital information can be created and prepared efficiently with the docuglobe editing system.
  • Automated documentation generation: Ing. Anke Hoffmann of Christof Fischer GmbH presented how document creation can be automated based on parts list information using docuglobe, with almost no editorial intervention.
  • Technical documentation as a support booster: Martin Bock of Diamant Software GmbH gave an impressive demonstration of how technical documentation integrated directly into the software is revolutionizing customer support.

These contributions showed with practical relevance how companies are devising ways forward into the digital, collaborative, and legally compliant world of documentation – with solutions from gds and a high degree of internal process competence.

Diverse presentation program

The presentation program presented ample opportunity for information and exchange on a variety of topics. Over 100 participants divided up into three presentation rooms based on their interests. Experts from gds and gds partner companies showed how digital solutions paired with content-related expertise – such as on the use of AI or Product Compliance – smooth the way to efficient, standard-compliant documentation.

Round tables promote open discussion

One special highlight was the interactive round table format. Here, small groups discussed issues relevant to the future – including topics such as “The Technical Editor 2030,” “Automation in Technical Editing,” “Changes in Roles due to AI,” and “Translation Processes of the Future.” The conversations offered plenty of room for reflection and personal experiences.

“As a moderator at one of the round tables, I saw for myself how open and lively the discussions were. The direct exchange with colleagues based on real-life experience added real value for many,” reported Regine Ceglarek, Marketing Manager at gds.

Meetings with added value

Like in previous years, the event kicked off with a get-together at the Brauerei Schumacher. The first in-depth discussions got started here in a relaxed atmosphere – a perfect prelude to a day full of professional ideas and networking. Even during breaks, at group lunch or at the round table, it was clear that gdslive is more than a presentation event – it’s a forum for real exchange at eye level.

Outlook

“gdslive thrives on face-to-face discussion – and that’s exactly what we were able to offer again this year,” said Anne Kudla, Sales Manager at gds. “The positive resonance with presentations, format, and atmosphere encourages us to develop this event further – together with our customers.” She added “My special thanks go out to the organization team led by Anja McGuire and Conny Wekeiser, who once again put together a well-made framework for our event.”

We are looking forward to gdslive on May 20, 2026.
