Technical communication and information management event – gdslive 2023 starts in May

  • gdslive at the Düsseldorf Airport Congress Center on May 24, 2023
  • Prior voting on agenda items ensures maximum relevance of technical presentations
  • Registration possible now

Sassenberg, March 30, 2023 – gds GmbH is extending invitations to join the gdslive event on its fifth anniversary. Following the successful comeback last year, this live event returns on May 24 to again shift the focus to sharing ideas, transferring knowledge and networking at the Düsseldorf Airport Congress Center. The event provides a platform for customers, business partners and those interested, addressing issues and trends in technical communication and information management. The conference program offers participants a broad program, including current topics, discussions and insights into new technologies and best practices.

“After the successful comeback last year, we intend to firmly establish gdslive in the calendar of sector events,” says Ulrich Pelster, Managing Director of gds GmbH. This year again, gds is relying on experts from the sectors of technical communication and mechanical engineering as well as business partners to make for an exciting program of presentations. “With gdslive, we aim to provide information about the latest developments in the sector of technical documentation while offering a platform hub for networking and sharing ideas in person.”

For planning the event agenda, gds believes that it is vital to include the topics that are currently stirring the interest of the sector. For this reason, those interested can vote on their preferred topics of interest before the event takes place. In 2023, voting resulted in a wide variety of topics again. Participants can look forward to a comprehensive program at the live event, including presentations on the modularization of compound images, content integration, the new version of docuglobe, and the legal framework for paperless documentation. Information on the consequences of the new Machinery Regulation or regarding the application of the documentation standard 82079 are also topics that were voted to be included in the agenda due to their relevance.

New legal framework conditions

The new regulatory framework conditions for mechanical engineering are among the focal points of gdslive. Philipp Reusch, attorney and founding partner of Reusch Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, will explain the impact of the new Machinery Regulation, the new Product Safety Regulation, and the revised Product Liability Directive as the keynote speaker. The law firm partner who has also been a business partner of gds since 2021, will, apart from pointing out the obvious consequences for the conformity assessment procedure and product compliance, also illuminate the role of manufacturers and operating companies in general, including their exposure to risks concerning market monitoring and appropriate market measures.

“With gdslive, we aim to link knowledge transfer on current topics with networks,” says Ulrich Pelster. The importance of in-person interactions and meetings with customers and partners alike has become perfectly clear, especially in light of the past few years. The casual atmosphere of gdslive would be conducive to fostering in-person interactions. “We believe that the combination of our agenda items is right on the money. The prior voting on topics by the audience ensures maximum relevance.” All the more of a reason to take action now and register to attend this event as the number of seats is limited.
