Support for the mechanical engineering sector: gds at Hannover Messe and VDMA conference

  • Invitation for an individual and professional exchange at the Hannover Messe trade fair at stand K26-6 in hall 3
  • Focus in Hanover on CE marking topics and gds Sprachenwelt
  • VDMA conference on the creation of documentation in the mechanical engineering sector on June 2 in Langen

Sassenberg, May 19, 2022 – content management systems, content delivery, product compliance, CE marking, digital documentation, and specialist translations: The topics that machinery manufacturers as well as the manufacturing industry must cover in their technical documentation are extremely varied. In May, gds GmbH and gds Sprachenwelt GmbH offer no fewer than two opportunities to get in touch with them personally: The Center for Technical Communication and Information Management will be present at Hannover Messe on May 30-June 2 as well as at the VDMA conference on the creation of documentation in the mechanical engineering sector on June 2 in Langen (Hesse).

“Hannover Messe and the VDMA conference are two events that enable us to get in touch with our customers in a face-to-face setting,” says Ludger Bruns, Head of the Consulting Service of gds. At the Hannover Messe trade fair, the company will particularly focus on product compliance issues and the service portfolio of gds Sprachenwelt. “Especially when it comes to the requirements for product labeling or technical translations, there is lot of uncertainty due to a lack of information. We would like to advise and support our customers in this area and we remain at their side throughout the development process.”

The Hannover Messe trade fair, which will be held in a hybrid form this year, will offer ample opportunities for the visitors to participate in a professional exchange and to network. Under the motto “Let’s create the industry of tomorrow”, the internationally renowned industrial fair creates a platform for the exchange of knowledge for the manufacturing industry as well as for the energy and logistics sectors. gds will be present as a partner of Zentralverband des deutschen Handwerks (German Confederation of Skilled Crafts) at its joint stand K26-6 in hall 3.

Michaela Gorisch, Managing Director of gds Sprachenwelt, will present the extensive portfolio of the company which includes specialist translation services, terminology work, and localization services in addition to a wide range of other language services. An example would be gds’ own PLURAVOX machine translation engine which is specifically adapted to mechanical engineering texts and provides an excellent basis for high-quality machine translation. “The output requires considerably less post-editing than the output of generic engines,” says Michaela Gorisch. gds also demonstrates a high level of expertise in the complete product compliance field, which includes the special requirements for the labeling of products for trade in other EU countries. In addition, interested trade fair visitors can obtain information about other aspects of the portfolio, e.g. the content management systems XR and docuglobe and the content delivery portal easybrowse. As an innovator in the digitalization and technical documentation fields, gds will also present their Digital Only Concept: the provision of (nearly) paperless technical documentation with full legal compliance.

VDMA conference after the Hannover Messe trade fair

Directly after the Hannover Messe trade fair, the VDMA conference on the creation of documentation in the mechanical engineering sector will be held as a traditional face-to-face event on June 2 at the town hall in Langen. The exciting and multifaceted conference program under the motto “Outsourcing strategies for future-proof technical documentation processes” will be accompanied by a specialized exhibition in which gds will also be present. The company from Sassenberg will be at stand 9.

In Langen, gds will primarily focus on the content management systems XR and docuglobe and provide advice concerning the selection of the most suitable solution for any given customer. Once again, the company will also present its Digital Only Concept which uses the easybrowse content delivery portal for the safe, paperless provision of operating instructions with full legal compliance.

“We look forward to meeting our existing customers and partners as well as numerous interested persons during the next few weeks,” says Ludger Bruns. “The mechanical engineering sector is ideal for demonstrating our full potential and for providing vast support. This is why the Hannover Messe trade fair as well as the VDMA conference are two platforms that we are very eager to use.”en.“
