More features, better clarity: What’s new in the easybrowse Release 6/2025
With Release 6/2025, the easybrowse portal is getting another functional upgrade designed to make working with digital information noticeably easier. New features, refined details, and improved layouts make information management even more efficient — for everyone involved, from editors to service staff.
No content? No problem!
If a search returns no results or access is blocked, the system now shows a context-based message. Instead of a blank screen, you get helpful suggestions for your next steps.
Better on mobile: Responsive design upgraded
Mobile view has been further enhanced. That means: improved readability and easier navigation – wherever you use easybrowse on the go.
Remove filters without losing your place
A small change with a big impact: When you remove a filter, the selected search result stays open. The result list only refreshes if the actual search query changes. This makes your workflow smoother.
Folder tree: Now fully expandable and collapsible
Another usability boost: Folders in the tree structure can now be expanded or collapsed completely – across all levels.
This feature becomes available when you hover over a folder with your mouse. Ideal for getting a quick overview or showing/hiding content as needed.
Built-in Registration Process: Self-service access for users
A real highlight of the release is the new registration process, which can now be activated directly in the portal. Users can register themselves via a link on the login page.
Registration takes place in two steps, fully GDPR-compliant:
- Email verification
- Entry of name and password

PDFs now open in overlay
Linked PDFs that are not directly accessible via the document structure now open in an overlay – without losing context.
Version shown in file name
When printing or exporting topic documents, the version is now included in the file name – and optionally also in the header.
Language selection right next to the search
The language selector has been moved to a much more intuitive location: right next to the search field. This keeps the filter navigation area cleaner and more streamlined. You can still view the available languages for each document in the details section, as usual.
New search tools for power users
If you run complex searches, you’ll appreciate this update: The search field now supports operators that you can enter directly.
Here’s what you can use:
- AND: Includes both terms
- OR: Includes either term
- NOT: Excludes the following term
- "PHRASE": Exact match of the full phrase
- * (wildcard): Replaces any number of characters
- ? (Letter): Replaces a single character
There’s also a new “Advanced” tab next to the search suggestions where you can select and insert these operators easily. The result: more precise and more convenient searching.
More improvements
As always, several small bug fixes and refinements have been implemented to ensure a smooth and high-performing user experience.
