At long last – gdslive 2022 – a full-blown success
- First event following a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic
- Compelling new location at the Düsseldorf Airport Congress Center
- Convivial atmosphere for shop talk
Sassenberg/Düsseldorf, September 28, 2022 – Exciting talks, well-attended presentations and lectures, and a nearly euphoric mood sum up gdslive 2022. For the first time, following a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, gds GmbH extended invitations for the popular event, this time taking place at the new location at the Düsseldorf Airport Congress Center – and it was a full-blown success. From the eve of the event to the individual expert lectures, the visitors enjoyed meeting in person, in an open atmosphere, in the light-flooded conference rooms directly at the runway.
“It just felt great meeting again for gdslive at long last. We’ve really missed this,” said Ulrich Pelster, Managing Director of gds GmbH. The participants were also very pleased. Accordingly positive was the feedback. “We really enjoyed gdslive and are excited about its huge success. Its only shortcoming: time flew by all too fast.”
gdslive 2022 actually started on the eve before the event in the form of an informal get-together. Delicious food and a relaxed ambiance set the mood for the participants to become acquainted and re-acquainted and to get ready for the next day. A full house with all seats taken and a convivial atmosphere for animated talks perfectly set the stage for a successful event the next day.
Difficult choices to make regarding the conference program
The conference day started early in the morning. The keynote speaker, Jens Seiler, on the topic “Faszination Gedächtnis” (Eng.: fascinating memory) involving mnemonics and the improvement of memory gave much to talk about. In a lively discussion, the memory coach and author answered many questions and was available throughout the event to talk to and for advice.
The program then started with numerous expert lectures. There was something for everybody: from presentations on the introduction of the digital product passport in the EU to the digital transformation in mechanical engineering up to automated documentation. It was not easy for the participants to decide which one of the three concurrently taking place lectures to attend owing to the wide variety of new and exciting topics. All the better that the guests were subsequently provided with all the information so that nobody had to miss out on valuable input.
The breaks were just as important as the program and used for animated conversation, sharing ideas, and networking. “With the positive feedback from our customers, we were assured that we had made the right decision to continue with gdslive at this point,” according to Pelster. “Even now we are looking forward to gdslive 2023 and we will announce the new date very soon.”
The new location offers a direct view of the Düsseldorf Airport taxiway.
Niklas Gatermann from reuschlaw spoke about technical documentation and its impact on product liability.
Gerd Bart from Transaction-Network informed about smart documents, digital twins and even more for digitalization in mechanical engineering.
